(east) coastal presents a fraction of thousands of photos taken on various road trips, vacations and cruises up and down the Atlantic Coast from Key West to Nova Scotia over a span of more than 15 years.

Much of the focus is on the natural beauty of the very special coastal environments. The effects of human interaction with these environments—whether in harmony or conflict—also is a major interest.

Where sea and land and sky meet, things seem to be just a bit more intense, more beautiful, more powerful and more dynamic. This is what I’ve tried to capture in these photos.
